Katy Perry won't be guesting on 'Sesame Street'

Katy Perry won't be guesting on 'Sesame Street' after all. The singer's duet with Elmo, which was shown online, caused so much controversy about her cleavage that producers decided to pull the segment in the TV broadcast. According to TMZ, some viewers objected that Perry was showing an excessive amount of cleavage. Despite the fact that the song, 'Hot N Cold,' was cleared up to have an audience of children, and Perry's assets were contained by flesh-colored mesh, the segment was deemed too risqué and can survive in YouTube-only infamy. Ahead of the premiere of their 41st (!) season, 'Sesame Street' is trying to become relevant to current popular culture. This season the puppets will even tackle a spoof of HBO's gore-fest, 'True Blood. The Live Feed snagged a sneak peek of the parody, which sends in the diner scene that opened 'True Blood' in its series premiere. The 'Sesame Street' version follows a grouch who slumps into a diner desperate for some 'True Mud' but who gets offered all manner of rhyming alternatives, such as 'True Spud.' The upcoming season will also feature a guest appearance by Irish bad boy (and father of two) Colin Farrell, who has described it as "one of the highlights" of his career. He'll play a detective helping Elmo and Murray the Monster teach viewers about the word during the day, "investigate." An excited Farrell said, "We did a scene with a couple of talking carrots and s***. ... It was genius!" Hopefully, Farrell's cameo won't get cut, too. The 41st season of 'Sesame Street' premieres Sept. 27, on PBS.
